How overage works

Soft-warn first. Hard-cap second.

Studio plans get a 30-day soft-warn window — overage attaches a warning to the response envelope and an email goes to the billing contact. Day 31+ the agent-count cap becomes a 422 (per ADR-022). Run counts roll into the next monthly invoice.

Calling GET /v1/usage returns the live counter at any time. Webhooks fire on threshold crossings so dashboards don't need to poll.

Frequently asked

Are there per-seat fees?
No. The offer is metered by usage, not headcount.
Can I move between tiers?
Yes. Stripe Customer Portal handles upgrades and downgrades on the next billing cycle. Annual Studio commitments get a 12% discount.
What happens if I exceed the rate limit?
The API returns 429 with the canonical Retry-After header. Our SDKs honor it automatically with exponential backoff.
Do you offer a non-profit or academic discount?
Yes — write to founders@simulix.com with a brief description of the project.
